Delphi is great for RAD. We all love Delphi, even when we are mad at it. In my opinion Delphi has 3 issues that Embarcadero has to fix in order to make Delphi more attractive.
1. It has ACTIVELY work to bring new Delphi programmers.
2. Solve the problems with the IDE stability
3. Has to encourage the community produce more libraries, especially in high-tech field (electronics, genetics, machine learning, advanced physics). These libraries exists in other languages (BioPearl, Python, etc), but not in Delphi. Where there are library for Delphi, they are ridiculously expensive, while super-popular libraries for other languages are free.
So, I wanted to see if the three ideas are only my personal opinions or if they are shared by the community.
- Does Delphi need young blood? Can you find Delphi jobs?
- Fixing bugs vs adding new features
- How is the Delphi IDE?
- Enough Delphi libraries?
Feel free to send me your personal opinions. I could create more surveys.
