Blogger and Google
The blog runs on Blogger, a service of Google. Google hosts the blog, so Google’s privacy policy also applies.
Blogger shows its own cookie notice. It says: the blog uses cookies from Google to deliver its services and to analyze traffic. Your IP address and your user agent go to Google, together with performance and security data. Google uses them to make usage statistics, to find and stop abuse, and to keep the service working well.
Comments
If you post a comment, Blogger stores it and shows it to everyone, under the name or the Google profile that you comment with. You do not need to comment to read the blog.
Cookies & Advertising
Google AdSense – advertising
Blogger shows ads from Google AdSense on the blog. The ads pay for part of the time I spend writing it. This privacy page shows no ads.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or to other websites. Google’s advertising cookies let Google and its partners show you ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. Examples are __gads, __gpi and __eoi; they last up to 13 months. If you agree in the consent box, some of Google’s advertising partners may also recognize your device by reading its characteristics (device fingerprinting). Without your agreement, they do not.
How Google uses this data: How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
How to say no
- In the EU, the UK and Switzerland, a consent window asks you before Google may use cookies for personalized ads. You can change your answer at any time with the link Privacy and cookie settings at the bottom of the pages that show ads.
- Everywhere, you can turn off personalized ads in Google’s Ads Settings, or turn off the personalized ads of many ad companies at www.aboutads.info.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The blog works without them.
